Creating Dreams: A Mother’s Blythe Doll Customization Journey
For over seven years, Edelweiss has been a devoted fan of Blythe dolls and has meticulously collected a series of rare pieces. However, as her collection grew, she noticed a phenomenon: while the dolls’ clothing styles varied, their faces were often quite similar. To give each doll a unique personality, she decided to combine styles from different eras to create her own custom Blythe dolls. She collaborated with her aunt, who loved sewing, and together they began customizing Blythe dolls. It was during this collaboration that
Edelweiss Studio was born—dedicated to creating one-of-a-kind Blythe dolls.

Here are some suggestions for doll lovers:
[Wear Gloves] When playing with Blythe dolls, please wear disposable gloves or clean white gloves. When changing Blythe dolls’ clothes and hair, your fingernails can easily scratch off the makeup, leaving white blemishes and ruining the makeup. In addition, if the makeup gets a small amount of dust on it, you can gently wipe it off with a dry cotton swab. Do not rub the makeup with your hands, as this can also cause the makeup to come off easily.
[Open the doll’s head] You can use a credit card or similar item to gently pry open the gap between the face and the back of the head.
- [Padded tissue] When assembling Blythe dolls, please wear disposable gloves and place tissues (toilet paper or disposable towels) on the doll’s face to prevent the makeup from being scratched off during assembly.
[Changing Eyes] Pull the Strings: Please pull the string sections. One string is for changing the eyes, and the other string is for opening the eyes. Pull the string upwards until you hear a crisp sound, indicating that the eye change was successful. Then pull the other string to open the eyes, and the Blythe doll will have its eyes changed.
[No Cosmetics Allowed] Although the makeup is set, it is still quite fragile and requires careful handling. Special colored powder is needed to apply makeup to Blythe dolls; cosmetics cannot be used. Residual chemicals cannot be wiped off, and stains cannot be repaired.
[Finally] Try using an eraser to remove stains from the body. Our doll’s eyes and ears are attached with eco-friendly clay, which won’t stain the doll’s skin and is easy to remove. If an eyepiece comes off due to an impact, simply press it back into place.
